school and graduated from St. Matthew's High School. She then continued her education at Iowa State Teaching College, where she received her teaching certificate. On September 14, 1945, Mary was united in marriage to Edwin T. Lawler at St. Matthew's Church and the couple established their home in Clare. Mary and Edwin farmed near Clare, where she also ran the Clare Café for several years. In 1985, she retired from Farm Egg. She was a member of St. Matthew's Church, past President and Secretary of the Ladies Aid, and had also belonged to the Quilt Club. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
