Green Beret), Brian ( Eryn) Roberts of Cameron, NC (U.S. Army Green Beret), Jason (Kaitlyn) Palermo of Madison, WI, Jessica Palermo of NY, NY, Brittany (Cully) Copeland of Monore, TN, Tayler Hall of Monroe, TN and Thomas Austin Hall of Monroe, TN. June leaves behind thirteen great-grandchildren: Rylan Roberts, Bohdi Roberts, Gunnar Roberts, Giabella Palermo, JonLuca Palermo, Grayson Palermo, Cullen Copeland II, Chase Johnson, Kayleah Copeland, Brylee Johnson, Maddilyn Johnson, Beckham Copeland, and Palmer Copeland. June attended and graduated from Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. degree in 1951. She moved to Washington D.C. to work for the F.B.I. as a code clerk for J. Edgar Hoover. This involved sending and receiving messages all over the world in code for the F.B.I. She then began her teaching career with her first stop in Rockwood City Schools, at Rockwood, TN in 1953. June moved to Key West, FL in 1954 and taught 6th grade at Truman Elementary School in Monroe County, FL which is where she met and married Bill. In 1956 - 1957, she transitioned to teaching at Memorial Junior High School in Key West this was a challenge for her since some of the students did not speak English, only Spanish. But knowing June's tenacity, she arose to the challenge and handled it beautifully. After a move to Jacksonville, FL, June taught 4th grade at Normandy Elementary School from 1958 - 1960. After Bill was discharged from 20 years service in the Navy, they moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL and to Lafayette, LA for Bill to pursue a job with the Federal Aviation Agency as an air traffic controller. During this time June did not teach as she had a full time job at home as a mother of four children. However, she continued her schooling taking graduate course work at Tennessee Tech, Corpus Christi University and Delmar College in Corpus Christi, TX. She began teaching 4th grade at Sam Houston Elementary School in Corpus Christi, TX. The following year, she was selected to teach at Yeager Elementary School. This was a new school built with open concept for team teaching. She was team leader and taught 3rd grade. Later, the family moved to New Orleans, LA where she taught 3rd grade in Metairie, LA in Jefferson Parrish at Greenlaw School. Finally, They settle in Monroe, TN and June started teaching at Monroe Elementary in 1968, teaching 2nd and 3rd grades. 1970 she taught 4th and 5th grades and in 1971 taught 3rd and 4th grades. In 1972, June transferred to Livingston Elementary where she taught 6th grade or the Language Arts for ten years. In 1982, she began teaching Reading in Chapter 1. When A.H. Roberts opened, June transferred and finished her last six years of her satisfying teaching career which totaled 31 years of teaching. These 31 years required June to hold teaching certificates for the states of Florida, Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee. After her retirement, June continued her love of cooking, reading, gardening, traveling and most importantly her dedication to her church in Livingston, TN; the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she became a member in 1970. She was very active in her church serving and volunteering countless hours with numerous duties. June was baptized in 1949 at the Obey River Park ( Dale Hollow Lake) by Vinton D. Bradshaw of the Midway Christian Church. Pallbearers to serve are Brian Roberts, Michael Roberts, Austin Hall, Cullen Copeland, Craig McDonald, and Scott McDonald Honorary Pallbearers are the Prayer group of First Christian Church, the Disciples Sunday School Class, and Chase Johnson. Pallbearers in absence are Brandon Roberts, and Jason Palermo.
