Paul Becket Cowgill, age 29, of 3100 State, Apt. G37, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Blessing Hospital. Paul was born January 24, 1983 in Quincy, IL, the son of Eric James Cowgill and Anna Christine Darr Cowgill. Paul was a 2001 Quincy High School graduate and was noted as a man of many talents. He was especially gifted artistically and his artwork and cast of characters were incredibly original and showed great promise. Writing and storyboarding were his focus and he combined that with a unique and hilarious look at the world. He made people laugh easily and had been gearing up to take his stand-up act to Chicago this summer. Growing up, Paul, was a witty, sweet, mischievous and a rambunctious wrestler with his brother Cory and together they took turns creating imaginary worlds/places of battles and were best friends. The Nintendo system was their temple and competition was fierce. Later, he became a helpful, positive influence on his younger sister, Beth and brother Ethan. and others. Recently he worked at Big Lots in Quincy. He enjoyed reading, exercising and walking and had lost 200 pounds on his own initiative. Paul was well-loved by all who knew him and was always willing to give a hand. Survivors include his father, Eric James Cowgill of Ogden, Utah; his mother, Anna Christine Cowgill and companion Bahman Skokouhi of Quincy, IL; 2 brothers, Cory Cowgill of Chicago, IL and Ethan Cowgill of Quincy, Il; a sister, Beth Cowgill of Germany; an aunt, Sonja (Kent) Jorgenson of Utah, and a grandmother, Erika Burton of Utah. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Cowgill; Uncle, Mark Cowgill, his grandparents, Shirley and Harold Darr and his great grandmother, Gladys Andrews. Services: 11:00 am Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State Street, Quincy, IL) Burial: Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery (5200 Broadway, Quincy, IL) Visitation:  4:00 pm - 7:00pm Monday at Hansen-Spear.
