Edward J. Lamb , age 82 of 724 S. Diamond, Jacksonville, Illinois, died Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 11:15 a.m. in Blessing Hospital. He had been a resident of the Illinois Veteran's He was born October 2, 1924 in Peoria, Illinois the son of George Edward and Julia Ann Buchanan Lamb. On December 10, 1946 he married Lillian Louise Watkins in Jacksonville, Illinois. He served as a Sergeant in the Army Air Corps 434th Fighter Squadron; 479th Fighter Group. He spent his service years in England during WWII where he participated in air offensives in Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with a Silver Star and a Bronze Battle Star, the WWII Victory Medal and 3 Overseas Service Bars. He was a member of Albert Pike Masonic Lodge in Kansas City, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and tinkering with clocks and small electronics. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Edna Fern Reynolds and Donna J. Nunn. Services will be Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at 10 a.m. in All Faiths Chapel at the Illinois Veteran's Home with the Rev. Mike Price officiating. Visitation will be at time of services. Memorials made to the family in his name would be appreciated.
