Bill Jones

Bill Jones, age 49, of Atwater, CA, formerly of Quincy, died Monday, May 25, 2009 in Atwater, CA. He was born March 8, 1960 in Pittsburgh, PA the son of John and Betty Woodruff Jones. On September 10, 1994 he married Diana Bowman in Las Vegas, NV. She survives. Bill graduated from Quincy High School in 1978 and Rockhurst College in 1982, where he played soccer. He spent most of his career in sales of metal buildings and building components. For the past five years he was the sales manager. Bill was an Eagle Scout, a member of the order of the Arrow, and a camp counselor at Saukenauk Scout Reservation. Bill was still active with and helped with Cub Scouting in California. Bill began golfing at age six and remained an avid golfer throughout his life. Bill also loved to fish, and took his son, Darius, fishing at every opportunity. Bill also bought Darius a Honda dirt bike, and they had just begun to travel to bike races. Survivors in addition to his wife also include his son, Darius Jones of Atwater, and his mother Betty Jones of Quincy. He was preceded in death by his father, John Jones, in 1986.
