Mary Shores

Mary F. Shores, age 77, of Quincy, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 8:04 am at her home. Mary was born November 7, 1940 in Kahoka, Missouri, the daughter of Lewis and Katherine Kirschner Schmid. She married Russell Lyle Shores on December 11, 1958. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1991. Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish for many years. She loved gardening and working outside in her yard. Mary is survived by two daughters, Glennis (Melvin) Mellon of Payson, IL, and Cindy (Chuck) Nutt of Overland Park, KS; six grandsons, Bradley (Becky) Mellon of Payson, Jamie Mellon of Hannibal, MO, Brent (Tanya) Mellon of Quincy, IL, Joshua Mellon of Plainville, IL, Charles Nutt of Chicago, IL, and Brody Nutt of Dallas, TX; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a sister, Opal Moore of Covington, TX; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Russell, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Vernon Schmid, two sisters, Anna Rose Roberts and Marie Walker, and a step-son, Dennis Shores.
