Howard O. Rutledge, age 95, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 7:52 a.m. in Good Samaritan Home.
He was born May 22, 1923 in Quincy, the son of Eldon C. Rutledge and Mary A. Ridder Rutledge. On December 1,1943 he married Hazel V. Henkenmeyer in Quincy. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2003.
He was a 1941 graduate of Quincy High School. He was a Gunner in the Navy during WWII. He worked for Hollister-Whitney as a machinist, a tool & die maker, as an engineer, and as a Product Manager until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Patricia Rutledge of Villa Park, California; two granddaughters: Kristin (Kenny) Wilson of Orange, California; and Lauren Rutledge of Scottsdale, Arizona; and a great grandson, Hudson James Wilson.
In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Rutledge; his parents; and his sister, Virginia Garver.
Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 Hansen Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Fieberkorn officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
