ery active at the Church of God and the Assembly of God Church. She was President of the CA Youth Group a youth leader and Sunday School teacher for many years as well as Sunday School Superintendent for 5 years. She was also the President and newsletter editor of the O.K. Bunch at the Assembly of God Church. Marilyn sang and played the piano for many years for countless church services, weddings, funerals, and community events.
She enjoyed teaching Buck Skinning and Indian Lore with Carroll. Marilyn and Carroll enjoyed giving back to the youth in their church and community. Marilyn lived for Jesus she was an avid bible reader and prayer warrior. She enjoyed many trips to Branson and looked forward to visits with friends and family.
Her family includes her daughter, Deb Kay Jackson-Carlson of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren, Christine (Dan) Messer, James Andrew Jackson, and KCasey (Sarah) Jackson; seven great grandchildren, Danelle Jackson, Curtis Messer, Catie Messer, Cody Messer, Bailey Jackson, Hailey Jackson, and William Mack Jackson.
In addition to her husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Eugene Hittle; a daughter, Linda Rae Hittle, and two sons in law, James W. Jackson and Frederick D. Carlson; and three sisters, Melva Jefferson, Dorothy Jefferson, and Betty Reese.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Assembly of God Church in Oskaloosa with Reverend Del Bittner officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Friday after 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 6-8 Friday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Marilyn Hittle Memorial Fund.
