Joan Louise Deam

Joan Louise Deam, 86, of Lakewood Ranch, FL and formerly of Watervliet, MI, entered into heaven on March 8, 2019 while at the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL. Joan was born on Oct 4, 1932 in Detroit to George and Sarah Tillman. She married her husband, Robert Deam, on Oct 4, 1953 (her 21st birthday) and together they have celebrated 65 years of marriage.  She and Bob attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.  After college, Joan worked as a Secretary for the Laundry Group Engineering Dept. at Whirlpool for many years and she retired in 1989. She was a Sunday school teacher at both Calvary Bible Church and Lakeshore Bible Church. She and Bob were also involved with many Christian Groups in the area including Youth For Christ, Grace Christian School and Child Evangelism Fellowship. For many years, Joan and Bob performed comedy skits in the area at parties, church banquets and other special occasions. In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Gene; and her sister, Shirley Harner. Nieces and nephews, Denise (Chuck) Morgan, Kim (Ron) Hoover, Kathy (David) Bauer, Dennis Tillman, Wayne (Lynn) Tillman, Randy Tillman, Donna (Mike) Langston and Don (Jeannie) Deam.   Joan was blessed with a happy, full life in striving to please the Lord and bringing glory to His name. The family will receive friends and relatives from 7 PM to 9 PM on Thursday, March 21, at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service in Coloma.  A service celebrating her life will be held at 1 PM on Friday, March 22, at the Watervliet Free Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens.
