Danial "Tank" L. Whiteside, 62, of Galesburg, passed away at 6:03 a.m., on Monday, May 6, 2019, at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born on September 8, 1956, to Claude and Helen (Foresburg) Whiteside, in Galesburg.
He is survived by one sister, Linda (David) Pyell of Elmwood; one half-brother, Ralph (Cindy) Miller of Pekin; and one nephew, Daniel Pyell.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
In high school, Danial was a musician and was involved in the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. During that time, he was afforded the opportunity to meet Chuck Mangione in person and shake his hand. In 2006, he was a graduate of Victory Home in Georgia. More recently, Danial worked as a Transport Driver for Renzenberger in Galesburg for about 10 years. He was also a past member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. He helped with the Defenders of Freedom program in Galesburg. He was of the Baptist faith.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Defenders of Freedom in Galesburg, IL.
