His family includes his two sisters; Janice Taylor of Mount Dora, Florida and Delores (Gary) Cundiff of Kirkville; two nephews, John Eric (Lori) Taylor of Austin, Texas and Bryon (Dagmar) Cundiff of Germany; one niece, Tammy (Gary) Harland of Ottumwa; one great nephew, Dalton; one great niece, Jayne; and many other step great nieces and nephews.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and a brother in law, David Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dan Visser officiating. Burial will be held in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Wednesday, May 29, 2019 after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the chapel from 5 to 7 Wednesday evening to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Society-Hospice and VA Hospital Stroke Unit in Des Moines, Iowa.
