Robert Donald Perske

Madison/Verona-Robert Donald Perske age 90, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011 at Rest Haven Health Care Center.   Bob was born in Wausau, WI on December 7, 1920, the son of Walter and Erna Louise (Sommerfeldt) Perske. 

Bob was a veteran of the U.S Navy and served in both WWII and the Korean War.   After the service he became a Registered Nurse and worked in Madison area hospitals for many years.   Bob continued his work in health care at WPS until he retired in 1986.   Once retired, Bob shared his expertise as a computer specialist at Cress Funeral Service until 2008. 

Bob was a longtime member of Commonwealth Masonic Lodge No. 325 F. & A.M., Valley of Madison Scottish Rite and Zor Shrine, where he dutifully served on the Director's Staff and Shrine Circus Committee.   He was also a member of Madison Elks Lodge No. 410.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Elaine; a sister-in-law Rosemary Gernetzke of Waukesha, WI; and further survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends. He is preceeded in death by his sister Bernice; one sister-in-law Barb Gernetzky and two brother-in-laws Robert Gerne...[more]

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on January 20th, 2011 at Midvale Community Lutheran Church, 4329 Tokay Blvd., Madison WI, with Rev. Bruce Loewenhagen officiating. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at church. A private burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau, WI.  

Bob's family and friends would like say a special "Thank you"to the staff at Rest Haven Health Care Center for the wonderful care they provided Bob.
