Sherry Ann Hertko, 51 of Grimes, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Merle Hay Funeral Home, 4400 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, Iowa, Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time also at Merle Hay. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.

Sherry Ann Yingling was born on September 1, 1967, in Marion, Ohio; she was the daughter of Scott Yingling and Ruth Fair. Shortly after her birth her father was killed and after her mother remarried her father that raised and loved her was Thomas L. Smith. On February 15, 1995 Sherry Ann was united in marriage to Robert Hertko at the Grimes Lutheran Church and they lived in Norwalk and for the last two years Grimes was their home. She enjoyed all kinds of art, the show "Mash", music and computer games.
