Harry R. Jameson, 87, of Burlington, died 3:04 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Great River Medical Center-Klein Unit.
Born on February 26, 1924 he was the son of Harry C. and Sarah M. Hewitt Jameson. He married Iola Lavonne White on July 19, 1980 she died November 12, 2006.
Mr. Jameson was a molder for Dexter Co. of Fairfield for 37 years. He retired in 1993. He was a U.S. Navy Seamen veteran, serving in World War II from 1941-1946.
He enjoyed putting together puzzles.
He is survived by one son; Ronald Jameson of Burlington; step-son Tom Jameson of Burlington; step-daughter Joanne (Evan) Walker of Danville; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Jameson of Eugene, OR and Rex Jameson of Burlington; one sister, Lemira Collett both of Williamsburg; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Iola, one brother and one sister.
The graveside memorial funeral service and inurnment for Mr. Harry Jameson will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31st in Greenwood Cemetery, rural West Burlington.
According to his wishes, the body has been cremated.
