Janet Berry

Janet "Jan" Berry was born on July 23, 1938, in Osceola, Wisconsin to the late Everett L. and Bernice (Klinke) Peterson. She was baptized in Taylors Falls, Minnesota and later confirmed at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden. She received her early education in the Taylor Falls and Storden Elementary Schools and graduated from the Storden High School in the Class of 1956. She then attended one year at Mankato State University in Mankato, Minnesota. She then went on to the McConell Airline School in Minneapolis and then worked for the airlines for several years. On August 16, 1965, Jan was united in marriage to Kenneth Charles Berry in St. Paul, Minnesota. This union was blessed with one son, Scott. Through the years, Jan was a loving wife and mother who worked for Braun's Fashions in Eden Prairie, Minnesota for twenty years until retiring in 2001. Jan and Ken then retired to Jeffers, Minnesota. Eight years ago, Jan was diagnosed with breast cancer and fought the disease courageously until passing away peacefully on Thursday night, April 7, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society-Sogge Memorial in Windom at the age of 72. Jan is survived by her loving husband of forty-five years, Ken Berry of Jeffers; one son, Scott Berry and his wife, Deb, of Elk River; two grandchildren, Derek and Danielle; one sister and one brother, Dorayne Shaw and her husband, Nathan, of Fridley; Charles Peterson and his wife, Sharon, of St. Louis Park; and several nieces and nephews.
