y College. Their first daughter, Michelle, was born in 1975. After moving back to South Sioux City in 1976, the couple later had two more daughters, Trisha in 1979, and Kasey in 1986. In 1989 Cheri started working for Walmart. Her employment at Walmart stretched out to more than 20 years of service. While there, she participated in numerous charitable events, including Children's Miracle Network and "Shop With A Cop". Additionally, Cheri was a South Sioux City Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce and was also very active in her church, where she was a eucharistic minister, lector, and made several floral arrangements over the years. She was also very involved in the American Cancer Society' s Relay for Life after being diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer in 2005. The most important part of her life was her family. Cheri loved boating, riding her Harley with her husband, and swimming in her pool with her family. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Steve, of 38 years; three children, Michelle (Cory) Hoch and their child, Carter; Trisha (Jason) James and their children Dylan and Madalyn; and Kasey (Christopher) Krueger, all of South Sioux City; three brothers, Robert (Jane) Prenger of South Sioux City; Thomas (Linda) of Mission, Texas; and Donald (Sherri) of Dakota City; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
