Timothy F. Rector

Timothy F. Rector, 59, of Keokuk, died at 1:43 AM Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Keokuk Area Hospital. He was born November 1, 1951 in Keokuk, son of Ed & Jean Hayes Rector. Tim married Mary Ann Dunn on June 16, 1973 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Keokuk, she survives. He attended St. Vincent's and Cardinal Stritch Schools in Keokuk. He was a Keokuk native who lived in San Francisco, CA for the last 30 years. Tim was a talented musician, songwriter and guitar player who performed in Rock and Roll Bands for many years. He recently retired from UFCW and returned to Keokuk. In 2005 he produced a Folk Festival with local musicians at the Grand Theatre in Keokuk benefiting Keokuk Catholic Schools. Tim was an avid San Francisco Giants fan and he and his wife were season ticket holders; they often traveled to Arizona to watch the Giants in Spring Training. He loved to recall his special memory of being in attendance during the earthquake game of the 1989 World Series. s wife Jackie of Keokuk, Dan Rector of Nauvoo, IL, David Rector and his wife Carolyn of Keokuk, Julie Rector Hodies of Bettendorf, IA, Pat Rector and his wife Lorrie of Keokuk and Mark Rector and his wife Julie of Keokuk. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be on Monday at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Concert Street after 3:00 PM with family meeting friends from 6 to 8. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 3 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center on Concert Street. Friends will gather at the KC Hall after the service. Memorials may be made to Keokuk Catholic Schools or Keokuk Area Hospital.
