Donald J. Peters

Donald J. Peters, 85, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away May 3, 2011, at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton, Iowa. He was born April 21, 1926, in rural Ackley, Iowa, to John and Esther (Mutschler) Peters. Donald attended school in rural Ackley and Hampton. On September 4, 1947, he married Caroline Brodbeck in Dumont, Iowa. He farmed until he retired in 1975. After retiring from farming he was a salesman for Moorman Feeds and Wyffels Seed Corn. Donald and his wife were also custodians at the Hampton United Methodist Church. There were four things he loved farming, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, baseball and fishing. He was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. Donald is survived by his wife Caroline of Hampton, three sons Gary (Bev) Peters of Hampton, Keith (Joyce) Peters of Hampton, Roger (Kaye) Peters of Hampton and two daughters Donnis (Rex) Borcherding of Latimer and Donna (Carl) Watson of Creston, grandchildren Jill (Jeff) Burkley, Scott (Tara) Peters, Rita (Dave) Bowman, Ryan (Jill) Peters, Rodney (Lacey) Peters, Jennifer (Jeremy) Stattelman, Travis Peters, Lacey (Blair) Elphic, Ranae Borcherding, Rebecca Watson and Kelsey W...[more]

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery.
