Robert D. Peterson Bob Peterson of 6th St. in Oostburg, formerly of Port Washington, passed away at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center Saturday morning, December 13, 2003. He was 76 years old. Bob was born in Elk Mound, WI on March 31, 1927, son of Alfred and Cora Blodgett Peterson. He joined the Navy after he graduated from high school and served until 1946. On June 18, 1950, he was united in marriage with Lita Karns in Menomonie, WI. Bob served as the principal at Dunwiddie Elementary School in Port Washington from 1963 until it closed in 1980, then served as the principal at Saukville Elementary until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Peterson was very active in the community. He had been a charter member of SPEBQSA, a member of Alpha Phi Omega, sat on the Manitou Girl Scout Council, belonged to the Kiwanis, the Library Board, the Port Washington Senior Center, and was a long -time member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as the Chairman of the Congregation and sang in the Choir. He is further survived by 1 brother, Jerome (Carol) Peterson of Onstead, MI, 1 sister, Eunice Gavin of Eau Claire, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 3, 2004, 10:30 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Pastors Elizabeth Jager and Edgar Greve will officiate. The family will receive friends at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, on Friday, January 2, 2004, from 4-7PM. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or St. Luke Lutheran Church.
