her own in 1986, which was a great accomplishment for her. In 1987, Earl passed away. The following year Edna met Mark Meyer through her work and after a short courtship they were married on January 27, 1989. Edna enjoyed collecting Hummel figurines and crystal vases, in addition to gardening flowers, watching the wildlife around her country home, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren! When Edna took a break from her busy activities, she could be found listening to Alan Jackson and Mickey Gilley songs or watching Dog the Bounty Hunter, Big Brother, Survivor, The Bachelor & The Bachelorette, or any home improvement show on HGTV. Edna will always be remembered in the hearts of those who loved and knew her so well. Edna Mae Meyer, age 82, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 5:50 am on Saturday September 7, 2019 at her residence. Survivors include her husband Mark Meyer of Columbia City; children Cozetta (Jim) Barnes and James (Monica) Wagner, both of Columbia City, and Earlene Alexander of Fort Wayne; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; step-children Steven (Michelle) Meyer and Jennifer (Adam) Swilley, both of Sarasota, FL, and Tracie (Norm) Klooster of Ellenton, FL; several step-grandchildren; siblings John (Sue) Helblig of Huntington, Cherryle Sexton of Murfreesboro, TN, and Judy (Ross) McBride of Fort Wayne. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Earl Wagner, sisters Delores Gilliam, Nancy Lakey, and Roberta Reynolds, brothers Bill and James Helblig. Friends may call on Wednesday September 11, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 pm at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral services for Edna will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday September 12, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City.
