Marista Marie Smith-Long

Marista Marie Smith-Long, age 23, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully at her home on September 13, 2019. Marista was born on July 26, 1996 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Corey Lawrence and Mishawn Smith. She was a proud graduate of Bryan High School of Omaha, Nebraska in 2015. A dearly loved wife, daughter, and sister, she enjoyed reading, spending time with family and friends, and had a deep love of all animals. Marista was employed by Lake Manawa McDonald's. She married her best friend, Michael, on July 16, 2018. She is survived by her husband, Michael Long, of Council Bluffs; parents, Anthony and Mishawn Galloway, of Bellevue, Nebraska; sister, Audra Ruthruff, of Hastings, Michigan; brother, Anthony Galloway, Jr., of Bellevue, Nebraska; grandparents, Carl and Connie Garvison, of Bellevue, Michigan and Earl and Jean Galloway, of La Vista, Nebraska; paternal mother-in-law, Valerie Hardy, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; aunts, uncles, and other relatives; and best friend, Krystal Misiunas.
