STEPHEN PAUL GARDELLA 55 of Weston, Florida passed away September 21, 2019 alongside his loving partner Diana Mowatt. Stephen grew up in Cumberland, Rhode Island and graduated from Cumberland High School. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and later graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1987 with a degree in Electronic Computer Engineering. He had been a pilot for New England Airlines, US Air, TWA and for the last 16 years a Captain for Jet Blue Airlines. He played recreational hockey his entire life, beginning at the age of 6, and continued playing in adult leagues while living in Florida. He was an avid Bruins and Patriots fan. While he was never employed in his degreed field, he stayed actively involved in electronics and was gifted with a mechanical aptitude. As a hobby, he built and rebuilt motorcycles, including the design and construction of a 3 wheeled motorcycle that was featured in a motorcycle enthusiast magazine. Gardella, Jr. His funeral service will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston Rhode Island. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
