Rita Knap

Mrs. Rita Knap   Rita Knap, age 87 years of Port Washington died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Horizon Hospice at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon.  She was born January 3, 1923 in Calio, ND, daughter of Arthur and Gertrude Wirth Schmitz.  On May 3, 1952, she married Harry Knap in St. Anna, WI.  He preceded her in death in 2005.  She was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington and enjoyed golfing and gardening.  Survivors include her son John (Jane) Knap of Cedarburg, granddaughter Jessica Knap of Cedarburg, brother Leon Schmitz of Hilbert, WI and sisters Bernice Wick of Milwaukee and Alice Thome of St. Anna, WI.  She was preceded in death by her brother Omer Schmitz.  A memorial Mass will held on Thursday, October 7, 6 PM at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church, 1800 N.
