Carolyn Sue Seibert

Carolyn Sue "Stretch" Seibert, 73, of Burlington died Friday, December 20, 2019 as the result of a car accident near Canton, Illinois. Born November 13, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa she was the daughter of Everett and Donna (Miller) Brownell. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended beauty college. She married Ronald Derby, they later divorced. She then married Thomas Seibert Sr., they later divorced. Carolyn was a motor route driver for The Hawk Eye for 25 years in addition to driving a bus for the City of Burlington. She was a kind soul and was very generous to those who needed it. She would give the shirt off her back and did not know a stranger. She was fun loving, outgoing, energetic and had a heart of gold. She was a racing fanatic! She loved all types of cars and was well known as the unofficial greeter at 34 Raceway as part of the "Turn 4 Crew". Racing was everything to her and she would plan visits around her trips to Donnellson Racetrack on Friday nights, 34 Raceway on Saturday nights and Quincy Raceway on Sundays. r family was everything to her. She is survived by her three children; Davina Seibert of Mt. Pleasant, Travis Seibert of Madison, Wisconsin and Tommy (Stacey Kerr) Seibert of Middletown, step-son Dave Derby; four grandchildren, Alexia, Landon, Ethan and Emery; and special cousin Linda Pohren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Sandra. The visitation for Carolyn will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 27th at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends. The graveside funeral service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 30th at Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
