Mr. Jack Pfau, age 91, of Burlington, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Burlington Care Center.
Born November 10, 1928 in Downers Grove, IL, he was the son of Jack and Ema Louise (Peters) Pfau. He married Ora Evelyn "Evie" Brent on March 16, 1950 in Gladstone, IL. She died March 15, 2009.
Jack graduated from Burlington High School. He served in the United States Army as PFC during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a bridge carpenter and tender for Burlington Northern Railroad for 39 years, until his retirement in October of 1989.
He attended First Christian Church of the Nazarene.
He enjoyed crafts, wood carving and fishing.
Survivors include four grandchildren, Larry Gilbert Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Jack Pfau of Ft. Madison, IA, Jean Stott of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Shauna Crawford of Des Moines, IA; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and companion, Sandra Mutchler of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Robert Pfau; daughter, Lucille Gilbert; a grandson; three sisters, Lorraine Pfau, Lois Lucas, and "Babs" Gorrell; and one brother, Robert Pfau.

t Lunning Chapel. Pastor Jeff Alexander officiating with military rites by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to funeral service.
