Wilford Paul Schroeder

Wilford Paul Schroeder, age 89, of Austin passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020. Wilford Paul Schroeder was born on September 19, 1930 in Taylor, Texas to Alvin and Lena Schroeder. He married Charlyne Spinn Schroeder at Wuthrich Hill Lutheran Church in 1954. A lifelong resident of Central Texas, Wilford grew up in the communities of Hoxie and Waterloo near Taylor. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and moved to Austin in 1958. He worked for Superior Dairies, before becoming an independent contractor with Texaco, and later spent seventeen years as owner­ operator of Austin Presort. Wilford is survived by his wife of 66 years, Charlyne Schroeder; son, Wilford "Buddy" Schroeder, Jr.; five grandchildren, Gina Zelden, Jamie Sorrentino, Brandon Schroeder, Matthew Schroeder, and Tiffany Schroeder; five great­ grandchildren, Troy, David, Avery, Stella and Reed; and brother, Bobby Schroeder. He is preceded in death by his parents. A private family service will be held at a time to be determined. [more]
