ead to the horse stable to spend time with his favorite horse, "Old Kate". A foodie long before the term was coined, he was also an ardent admirer of cars. Whether sports or luxury, he was enthused by all makes and models. Simply stated, George loved his cars. In 2003, George suffered a debilitating illness that tested his tenacity, endurance and determination to the very end. While many days were filled with pain and physical limitations, he always pushed himself above and beyond physical capabilities to "get things done on his own". He was so determined to move beyond any confines prescribed and consistently rose above diagnosed odds to continuously exceed potential. George was loved by so, so many! He loved his community and his infectious laugh and captivating smile will truly be missed. As one of the owners of Pa & Ma's Bar-B-Que, Inc., for over twenty years, he was a vital part of numerous accolades received by the business. Everyone knew "Gorgeous" for his welcoming embrace to all who entered the business. He prided himself in the taste, texture and tenderness of the rib product that the business became so well-known for. George is seen in many publications boasting the business including Indianapolis Monthly, Food & Wine Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Eating Out by Reid Duffy and Real Bar-B-Que by Vince Staten. George was a true rib master, sometimes operating three commercial size pits at one time. One could truly argue that this city has not seen ribs this masterly prepared since George rested his fork. Preceded in death by his father, Bishop George Washington Williamson Jr., and his sister, Pamela Novella Williamson, George truly loved his family! He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Phyllis (Turner) Williamson, one daughter, Sherron Danielle Harris and one grand-daughter, Chestina Passley. Other family members left to cherish the memory of George include two sisters; Barbara Ann Smith and Joyce Quanita Rogers; one Brother, Paul Williamson; and one Brother-In-Law, Kenneth DeWayne Rogers, three nieces, one nephew, one great nephew, and two great nieces, other relatives and friends whose lives he touched and enriched. George Washington Williamson, III touched many lives during his sixty-one years on this earth and will be sadly missed, but joyfully remembered by his dedicated family and the community at large.
