Glen Frank McKinney

Glen Frank McKinney, 96 of Nevada passed away on Saturday June 18, 2011 at the Story County Senior Care Center in Nevada, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 22, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Following the visitation will be a graveside service for Glen at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. He was born on November 16, 1914 to Ralph and Anna (Hrabjack) McKinney in Nevada, Iowa. Glen attended school and graduated from Nevada High School where he excelled in baseball. After high school Glen married Pauline Nighsonger in 1938 and they joined his parents on the family farm. Of this union one child was born. After separating with Pauline Glen married Irene McKinney in 1964. Glen continued to run the family farm and also was a general contractor in the construction industry. Glen was a avid outdoors-man and had a love for playing baseball, flying airplanes, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughter Judy McKinney of Huxley; nephew Michael Inglis of Albuquerque, NM; a niece Jacqueline Wilder of Van Nuys, CA; and many friends. The family is requesting that casual dress be worn for Glen's services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Memorial Lutheran Church, in Nevada. Following the graveside services friends are invited to the Memorial Lutheran Church for a luncheon. Chet Ryan Mortuary, in Nevada, has been entrusted with the care of Glen and his family.
