nd weekend road trips with Darcie. He also enjoyed playing Tiger Woods Golf on Playstation with his brother and attending his grandchildren's baseball games. Above all else, Steve enjoyed laughing with his family and friends and bringing a smile to those around him.
His family includes his wife, Darcie Jones of Keomah Village; his daughter, Amber (Brady) DeWitt of New Sharon; his grandchildren, Keaton and Kiersten DeWitt; a niece/daughter, Jada West (Sage Lafollette) of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Jeff (Barb) Jones of Blue Springs, MO. And Scott Jones of Oskaloosa; his sister, Kathy Jones of Oskaloosa; four sisters-in-law, Lisa (Shannon) Brackelsberg of What Cheer, Claira Thurman of Oskaloosa, and Jennifer Hanigan of Oskaloosa and Melissa (Chris) Roorda of What Cheer; He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Nancy Reed; his father-in-law, Tom (Heather) Hanigan and many, many nieces and nephews.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Sally Jones.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Olivia Fabros officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Military rites will be given by members of the Oskaloosa V.F.W. and American Legion. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Wednesday after 2 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Wednesday evening to greet friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
As a tribute to Steve, the family requests those that are attending to please wear Kansas City Chiefs or Kansas City Royals apparel if possible.
