Sievers, Elwyn "Chief", age 84, formerly of Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville. He was born in Granville, Wisconsin the son of the late Martin and Myrtle Sievers. He was a Retired Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army who served his country in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was the past President of Mid South Eye and Kidney Foundation, and a member of the Conway, Arkansas Lion's Club. He was awarded a place in the Lion's Hall of Honor for his service. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 45 years, Lena M. (Tharp) Sievers. Chief is survived and will be greatly missed by his children, Ginger Schaedtler, Lovilla Foote, and Walter Schmidt; sister Lovilla Horn; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. There will be a Graveside Service with Military Honors on Friday, December 26th at 1:30 pm at East Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery on John Sevier Highway.
