Barry Benard

Barry Benard, 78, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 12, 2018 after battling a long-term illness. He was born in New Holland, Pennsylvania on August 18, 1939 to John and Anna Benard who preceded him in death. His grandson, Aaron Benard also preceded him in death. Barry moved to Phoenix in July of 1959 with no money or job, just a suitcase in his hand. With hard work and determination he became a successful businessman in the construction industry. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. Barry had a charismatic way about him that drew people to him. Everyone loved his "stories", his jokes and his variety of goofy hats he would wear on holidays and special occasions. He seemed to know a little bit about everything. His favorite saying was "I read an article about it in the paper". He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Phyllis; his children Brian (Kathleen), Anne Marie (Timothy), Brett (Kristen) and Brady.
