Anthony J. Thomas, age 88, a devoted and faithful husband and father, passed away on Monday, April 6th, 2020. Anthony was born on April 14, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and the late Anne (nee: Bolis) Thomas. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and selflessly served his country from 1949 to 1953. Anthony fought in an epic battle in Korea known as the "Chosin Reservoir". After returning home, he landed a job at the Stroh's Brewery Company where he worked for 21 years. On November 9th, 1957, he married the love of his life, Therese Fedeski. The couple was blessed with five beautiful children. Over the years, he worked at Nelson Plumbing Company of Royal Oak, Michigan as a Warehouse Manager until they closed and then became the Supervisor of Medical Supplies for South Macomb Hospital, now known as Ascension St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital of Warren, Michigan until he retired in 1997. Tony (as everyone called him) was a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Grand Knight for 15 years. ile, an abundance of love in his heart and devotion to his wife that was unprecedented. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne (nee: Bolis) Thomas. He was the loving husband of Therese (nee: Fedeski) for 62 blissful years. Dear father of Anthony W. (Jennifer) Thomas, Sandra (John) Malone, Timothy (Lisa) Thomas, the late Theodore Thomas, and the late Cynthia Thomas. Cherished grandfather of Kourtney, Anthony, John, Lucas, Megan, and Brian. Beloved brother of Rita LaHood and the late David Thomas. He is further survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chas. Verheyden, Inc. Anthony's family will receive guests on September 18th, 2021 from 10am until the time of their Memorial Mass at 12pm at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church, 43888 Hayes Rd., Clinton Township, MI 48038. A luncheon will take place following Mass at St. Sharbel Church. Burial will take place on September 24th, 2021 at 11am at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI 48442.
