ttended college at Fort Dodge Business School. Upon graduating from Business School, Bill worked briefly for Sieg Ft. Dodge Auto Parts before entering the U.S. Air Force. He served during the Korean Conflict, before receiving an Honorable Discharge. While serving in the Air Force, Bill married Dorothy Jeanette Dillion. They would have five children. Bill worked for Sieg Ft. Dodge Auto Parts again from 1954 - 1965 in Both Clarion and Algona. In 1965, he went to work for American Express Financial Advisors, and continued to work for them until 1998. He and his wife owned and operated Studer Insurance & Realty from 1972 - 2004, before retiring. Bill and Dorothy spent several months yearly at their second home in Peoria, Arizona, where he enjoyed hosting his children and numerous friends. He loved to play golf and was able to shoot his age or better on several occasions. He continued to play 3-4 times weekly until suffering a stroke in the summer of 2009. He was a wonderful father and grandfather to his five children and 11 grandchildren. He was also an avid high school sports fan. Bill was active in many community organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, VFW and Lions Club. Additionally, he served on the Algona Board of Adjustment for 27 years and the Algona Planning & Zoning for four years. He is survived by his five children: Randy (Shelia) Studer of Naples, FL, Debra (Rich) Sacks of Hopewell Junction, NY, Diane (John) Fender of Loveland, CO, Rob Studer of Denver, CO, Ann Studer of Highland Lakes, NJ; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Jeanine Ackerson of Algona. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 60 years, Dorothy Dillon Studer on June 29, 2013; his parents; his brothers, Robert and Gayle Studer; and sister, Vivian Kelch.
