James Irvin Maloney, age 95, of Dawsonville, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011. James was a member of Winters Chapel United Methodist Church for 83 years. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Navy and participated in the Normandy invasion. James was the original Scoutmaster of troop 403 Winters Chapel scout troop. He is preceded in death by his sons, David Kenneth Maloney and Joel Irvin Maloney. Survivors include his wife, Jewel Maloney of Dawsonville; children, Barry and (Denise) Maloney of Dahlonega, Johnny and (Kim) Maloney of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Chris and (Beverly) Maloney, Scott and (Tiffany) Maloney, Mason Maloney, Kennady Mays, Nash Maloney; great grandchildren, Madison Maloney, Sydney Maloney, Ella Maloney, Kara Maloney; sister, Sara Kinnard of Woodstock ; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011, at Winters Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Shelia Preacher and Rev. James Sanders officiating. Interment will follow at Eidson Cemetery in Doraville, Ga.
