Ernest LeRoy Williams, 82, of rural Burlington died Friday, May 21, 2010, at his home. Born May 22, 1927 in Ontario, California, he was the son of Paul L. and Lola E. Lamm Williams. On March 6, 1955 he married Beverly J. Hingst in New London. Mr. Williams was a graduate of Winfield High School and American Schools of Chicago. He was a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed farming for many years in the Lockridge and Burlington area. He worked at J.I. Case Company for 28 years. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir, and was a member of Moose, Lions Club, and rural Youth Group. He enjoyed dancing with his wife at the Moose Lodge, playing cards, camping and planning a many get-togethers with family and friends. He was an avid reader. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Williams of Burlington; two daughters, Cynthia (Greg) Phillips of Missouri and Janet Boyer of West Burlington; one son, Ronald (Viktoria) Williams of Glendale, Arizona; six grandchildren, Nathan Phillips, Nabrina (Adam) Patton, Dylan, Shelby, Seth Williams and Austin Boyer; four great grandchildren; one niece, Sarah Williams and seven nieces and nephews. daughter Patricia Williams, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. The funeral service for Mr. Ernest LeRoy Williams will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 25th, in Lunning Chapel. Rev. Jerry Rigdon will officiate. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Mt. Union. Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. and the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice House, Asbury United Methodist Church and Jane Delano Nursing Scholarship Fund.
