Diane L. Babcock lost her valiant battle with mesothelioma cancer on March 28, 2011 at the age of 68. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 2 at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.

Diane was born August 22, 1942 in Boise, Idaho to Gladys and the late James W. Babcock, Jr., the 2nd of 6 children. After graduating from the U. of Oregon in 1964 Diane enjoyed a long career with the IRS as an auditor. During her career she lived in Boise, San Francisco, and finally Cumming, Georgia.

Diane loved reading, downhill skiing, sailing, traveling and living by the water. She was also an avid baseball fan and a terrific aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Following her retirement from the IRS she spent summers in McCall, Idaho and winters in Cumming, Georgia.

She is survived by her mother Gladys Babcock and a sister Sandra Harms of Boise, sister Kathy (Gary) Totten of Cumming, sister Anne (Paul) Kaserman of Idaho Falls, Idaho, sister Suzanne (Frank) Bosch of Cumming, brother Jim (Cyndi) Babcock of Cumming and her 14 niece...[more]
