015. Maggie was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 70 and became a breast cancer survivor at the age of 75. Maggie was determined to attend cancer walks under the Susan B. Komen Foundation. In 2012, she was highlighted in an article of the Indianapolis Star & News featuring her expressions of the walk. Maggie loved to cook, and worked at several restaurants, which led her and her husband to start two restaurants in the early 60's. Maggie retired from Indiana University in 1989 but in 2011 her love of cooking caused her and Frank to establish Circle City Soul Food in 2011. Maggie enjoyed spending her time relaxing and watching her favorite TV show (Sanford & Son) and giving Frank orders to get something for her. Her laughter would light up a room and her warm smile would make you feel wel¬come and like part of the family. She loved her family and would do anything for them, and they would do anything for her. Maggie always made sure that all of her grandchildren would have Christmas gifts. She would call up the family and make sure they came over to pick up their presents. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers (Otis, Clarence and Calvin); one sister (Annie Ruth Evans), and three grandsons (Marcus Williams, James Nall and Kevin Maye, Jr.). Maggie departed this earthly life on Friday, May 29, 2020. She leaves her memories to her husband, Frank and children, Daisey (Larry), Gerard (Debra), Claudia, Karen, Mary (Emerson), Keith (Verlena}, Kevin (Janice) 27 grandchildren, 52 great grand-children; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
