Joseph Corey Silvia

Joseph Corey Silvia, age 85, of Middletown died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Newport Hospital of Newport, RI. Joseph was born November 26, 1931 in Newport, RI. He is the son of the late Christopher and the late Annie (Dutra) Silvia. Joseph was a veteran of the Korean War. After his discharge from the military, he started his career in bricklaying and masonry. Many family members have beautiful fireplaces and stone or tile floors that display his creative and talented work. After his retirement from the brick-layers and masons union, he enjoyed working in his garden and sharing the vegetables with the family and friends. He is survived by 7 children David M, Silvia, William Silvia, Michael J. Silvia, Lorena C. Keemon, Lisa Iaonne, Lynne Spencer, and Lisbeth Mullen. He was the father of the late James F. Silvia and Leslie Silvia. Services will be private.[more]
