Michael (Mike) A. Boiani of Bristol, RI (formerly of Newport, RI) age 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Newport Hospital from complications of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.Born in Newport, RI on July 6, 1949 he was the son of the late William J. and Nancy (Landoch) Boiani. Michael is preceded in death by his sister Linda A. Robillard and brother William E. Boiani. Michael is survived by his wife Carole (Soares) Boiani, daughter Dawn Boiani (Kristian Sandberg) of Boulder, CO, granddaughter Annika Sandberg and Diana Sanchez of Gaithersburg, MD. He also leaves his sisters Christine (Eric) Anderson, Laurie Bowers (Al), and brother Jerrold, sister-in-law Lisa Boiani, mother-in-law Elinore Soares, sister-in-law Lenora Millington, brothers-in-law Andrew (Teresa) Soares and Mark (Jill) Soares as well as many nieces and nephews.Michael graduated from Rogers High School in 1967. He attended Rhode Island Junior College, Rhode Island College, and the University of Rhode Island. He enjoyed his house in the woods of Maine spending many hours with his nieces and nephews, ATV riding, snowmobiling, and just puttering around the woods with his wife and dogs. He loved seeing all types of wildlife. Michael enjoyed sitting around a campfire and having a beer or two with the neighbors. He loved his dogs (past and present) Jake, Alex, Buddy, Boomer and Dasher.Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 2:00PM, at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Institute at Newport Hospital or to the RI SPCA 186 Amaral St, Riverside, RI.
