Armando Jimenez
Dr. Armando Jimenez, DMD of Tiverton, RI passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019. He was 82 years old. He was the husband of Sherry A. (OConnell) Jimenez. They had been married for 34 years. Born in Bogota, Colombia on February 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Luis Felipe Jimenez and Julia (Leon) Jimenez. After graduating from Tufts University School of Dentistry in 1975, Armando had a private practice in general dentistry in Providence, RI for 29 years. He was the Assistant Director at Joseph Samuels Dental Center in Providence from 1979 to 1983. From 1979 to 1980 he was a Clinical Instructor at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry and Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral Health Services at Tufts University from 1980 to 1983. Armando had been a staff dentist at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections in Cranston, RI until his recent illness. His passions included working in his garden, painting, photography, music and his love of animals, especially his dogs, Maggie and Isabella, who he called the girls. Clarke of Saunderstown, RI, Todd Ayotte of Warwick, RI, Jason Ayotte and wife Lisa and grandchildren Hannah, Michael and Ava Ayotte of Little Compton, RI, Shane Ayotte and wife Rachel and grandchildren Kirby, Delta and Grady Ayotte of Charleston, SC. He is also survived by his sister Clara Namur of Boca Raton, FL and his brother German Jimenez of Bogota, Colombia along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Jimenez, Flor de Daza, Luis Jose, Alfonso and Guillermo Jimenez. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
