Frank "Charles" Butler

Frank "Chuck" Butler was born April 12, 1950, in Chula Vista, CA to Frank and May Butler. He passed away on July 18, 2020, at Mercy West Lakes at the age of 70, after a 5 ½ year battle with lung cancer. If he could, he would tell you, "don't smoke." Chuck moved to Iowa in 1973 where he resided in Des Moines, Grimes, and St. Charles. He worked for Rock Island Railroad and Dico Manufacturing before retiring from O'Connor Company in 2016. Chuck also served as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Grimes for 10 years. Chuck had a love for the outdoors where he enjoyed camping, hiking, and kayaking. He was also a talented carpenter who kept busy by constructing things such as toy boxes, lincoln logs, baby cradles, and building his own home with his wife. Some of his other interests included reading, watching old Westerns, and listening to Rock N Roll music. Above all else, Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time he spent with his family and loved ones.
