retirement, Stan worked at Florida A& M University as the Assistant to the Dean of the Business School. During the four years he lived in Davie County, he owned All American Ford in Mocksville. He later worked as the Director of Human Resources at Network Engineering in Maryland. He ended his professional career in 2009, when he retired from the National Security Agency, where he held the title of Chief of Recruitment. Stan was also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Stan will be remembered for his dedication to his country and family, his smile, and friendliness. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lavern Jackson. On November 8, 2014, at age seventy, he died in Pensacola, Florida following an extended illness. Stan is survived by his devoted wife of forty-six years, Faye Boyd Carter; one son, Eric Carter, one daughter, Gail Carter (husband Malik) Hardwick; two grandchildren, Carmen and Mason Hardwick; one sister, Caroline Osborne; one uncle, William Hundley, one niece, Anita Denning; one nephew, Michael Jackson; additional relatives and many, many friends. A service of thanksgiving for the life of Commander Carter will be held Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1:00 PM at Mustin Beach Officers Club aboard Pensacola Naval Air Station. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Virginia with full military honors in April 2015.
