music! Simon had a love for animals. He proudly raised cattle alongside his father. When he was young he was an active member in 4-H. He was very successful showing cattle and after he graduated from high school he helped his father sell home raised show calves to many families. Although cattle were his first love, a close second was his love for birds, he loved them all! As a young boy he raised homing pigeons, guineas, pheasants, and parakeets. As an adult he raised chickens, geese and turkeys. He also had a love for cats. One of Simon's closest friends gave him a little gray kitten. Although he "didn't want the kitten", he kept him and named him Turbo. Turbo lived for 20 years because of Simon's love. Simon had a love for antiques which he shared with his mother. He was also a true Iowa Hawkeye fan to the core. Simon enjoyed being the life of the party. He had a comedian-like sense of humor, enjoyed karaoke, going out with friends and although he enjoyed his country music, he was a die-hard AC/DC rocker! His close friends knew him as the Ol Boy Rick James but they also knew him as the one they could count on anytime day or night when they needed him. He was a great listener! He is survived by his wife Angela and their two children, Tommy and Waylynn of Burt; his parents; Tom and Ingrid Henry of Algona; four siblings Tina (Jason) Henry-Thill of Humboldt, Cinnamon (Channon) Mawdsley of Algona, Amber (David) Garman of Algona and Joe (Maria) Henry of Burt; his parents-in-law, Ron and Diane Meyers of Irvington; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his sister Ginger Henry, his maternal grandparents Virgil Finnestad and Ruta Widdel; and his paternal grandparents, Simon and Matilda Henry.
