Barbara Elizabeth Meyer

Barbara Elizabeth Meyer, 77, passed away on July 25, 2020 at home. She was the wife of Michael A Meyer and they shared 59 years of marriage. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Joe and Edna Elgin. She was a graduate of Towson High School. Before moving to Arizona, she resided in Southern California. Prior to retirement, she was employed in retail management. As a longtime resident of Arizona, she was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Barbara was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved the role of Grandmom. She had a vivacious, "tell it like it is" personality. She was known for her fierce loyalty and approached life with love, strength and a feistiness appreciated by all who knew her. She will be forever missed by her devoted husband Michael A Meyer, twin daughters Michelle Meyer Shilling (Robert) and Barbra Meyer Doud (Thomas), grandchildren Marc, Amelia, Lauren, Mary, Lexi, Lilly, Owen, and beloved pets Freya and Mister. Saint Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2312 E Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. The Mass will be livestreamed at www.staphx.org. The family will greet visitors from 10:00am to 10:30am before the scheduled mass. Masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
