Marvin George Johnson

Marvin George Johnson, age 94, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at the Journeys Neighborhood at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Marvin had deeded his body to the University of Iowa for medical studies and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Gunderson Funeral Home in Fort Dodge assisted with arrangements at the time of his death. Marvin was born on September 22, 1925 to Enoch E. and Agda (Erickson) Johnson on a farm northwest of Pomeroy, Iowa. When he was 2 years old, his parents purchased the farm northeast of Fonda, where the family moved and Marvin spent most of the rest of his life. He attended grade school at Grant #9 and the early years of high school at Fonda Public School prior to graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1943. As he was growing up he assisted his father in running the farm on which they lived. He was active in vocational agriculture, FFA and 4-H and through 4-H met Beryl White.
