ople laugh. Whether he was being silly or sarcastic, he always seemed to know what would be best to help someone else feel better. A few years after high school, Matt moved to Santa Barbara, California to start a new life he absolutely loved. He made lots of new friends, and found a city where he knew he belonged. He learned how to edit video, and worked editing commercials. He loved to go out with his friends and have a good drink, and he could always be found watching, talking about, and helping to create films. He gave the greatest bear hugs, and could talk all night about all sorts of interesting subjects. Music and books were still a big part of his life, and he spent a lot of time reading and listening to different types of music. He continued his love of learning and always knew about many different things before everyone else. When Matt was sick, for three years there was an ever abundant outpouring of visits and love sent to him from friends, colleagues, and family. All the love he shared with people over his life was sent right back to him, and for that, his entire family will be forever grateful. Matt was an amazing son, brother, and uncle, and will be incredibly missed by his parents, Gloria and Evaristo Perez, his brother Everette and sister-in-law Sheri, and his sister Katherine and her fiancé, Rene. He will forever be loved by his nieces Mia, Sophia, Felicity, and Viviana, as well by his nephews, Xavier, Luke and Romeo. He will be remembered lovingly by his aunts, uncles, and cousins and will NEVER be forgotten by all his amazing friends from all over the world. We all love you Matt. God bless you, and may you rest easy until we meet again. A Rosary will be held for Matthew on Monday, August 17th at 6:00pm at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85024.
