Michael Clyde Edward Smith, Sr.

Michael Clyde Edward Smith Senior (69), of Grand Haven, passed away on August 10th, 2020 at Mercy Hospital. A Celebration of life will be held from noon til five on Saturday August 29th at his home 12965 Buchanan Street, Grand Haven, Michigan. Michael was born in Custer Michigan, to Harold and Darlene Smith on November 29th, 1950. He graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1970. He married Debra Seitz on February 27th, 1971 in Fruitport Michigan. Mike worked as a machine setup technician at Challenge Machinery for 25 years as well as Bill Mar Restaurant until he retired. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers, watching the Red Wings with his children and camping with his wife and grandchildren. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Darlene and Harold Smith, his siblings Nicholas Lovejoy, Philip Smith, Al Smith, and Lois Smith. Michael is survived by his wife Debra, sons Peter Michael Smith and Michael Clyde Edward Smith Jr. (Jennifer), siblings Roderick Smith, Timothy Smith (Merry), Tony Smith, Darlene Ruiter (Maxine), Patti Jo Crow (Edwin), and grandchildren Monica, Alyssa and Adrienne Smith as well as many nieces and nephews.
