Cheryl Lynn McPherson, 69, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 14, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, from 4 to 7 P.M. at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Burial will be at the Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa. It is recommended that you practice social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Cheryl Lynn Bowen was born on September 2, 1951 in Arizona to Kenneth and Thelma Lorraine (Vaught) Bowen. She grew up in Arizona and attended Beauty School in Arizona and Business School in Iowa. She married Larry Dean McPherson on July 16, 1971 in Rock Island, Illinois. Four children were born to this union, Dena Lynn, Shawnna, Matt and Adam. Lynn had worked at area restaurants and cafés, and The Shopper in Maquoketa. She began her career with DAC Inc. in 1975 working with persons with disabilities. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Larry McPherson of Maquoketa, IA; children, Shawnna (Tony Stagg) Owen of Davenport, IA, Matt (Holly) McPherson of Bellevue, IA, and Adam McPherson of Maquoketa, IA; 5 grandchildren with one on the way in December; and siblings, Jeryl (fiancé Carol Feller) Bowen of Maquoketa, IA, Denise (Larry) Zirkelbach of Wilton, IA, and Tonya Duhme of Dubuque, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Dena Lynn, brothers Kevin and Dennis, and sisters Dee Hill and Karen Steines.
