Herbert Tanzer

Herbert Tanzer was born on October 28, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York, to Julius and Adele (Taxerman) Tanzer. He and his two brothers grew up in Tucson, Arizona. After high school and some college, Herbert joined the U.S. Airforce. He later began a career in sales in financial services. Herbert married Arlene (Gelvin) in November 1963. They raised three children together, Andrew, Joelle and Scott. Their Scott and Joelle have married and now have children of their own, blessing Herbert with 3 granddaughters, Emily Tanzer, Abby and Hannah Milstein. Herbert Tanzer passed away, surrounded by family, on Saturday September 26, 2020. He was preceded in death by his son Andrew, his two brothers Melvin and Gilbert Tanzer, and his mother, Adele. His life will continue to be remembered and honored by his wife of 57 years, Arlene; his children and their spouses: Joelle Milstein Womack and Cory Womack, Scott Tanzer and Barbara Tanzer, and his three granddaughters Emily, Abby and Hannah. He leaves behind numerous family and close friends; he will be missed.
