William Ervin Gootee

William Ervin "Bill" Gootee, 73, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on September 25, 2020 in Kyle, Texas. Bill was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Glenn Ervin Gootee and Martha Elizabeth Gootee on July 9, 1947. Bill graduated from Mary Carroll High School, Corpus Christi, Texas in 1965. After high school he joined the Navy. Bill had multiple jobs but most recently worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Gonzales until he retired in 2019. He had an outgoing personality and developed numerous friendships in the Gonzales area. He treasured his relationships with his friends. He is survived by his sister Joyce Montgomery and her husband Melvin Montgomery of Plano, Texas, Nephews Scott Montgomery of Lewisville, Texas and Doug Montgomery of Kyle, Texas, and Great Niece Madison Montgomery. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Martha Gootee. A Graveside Memorial service followed by Inurnment will be held at the Gonzales Memorial Park on October 17, 2020 at 2:00PM with Reverend Jerry Lyons officiating.
